Topic Ten – E-Business Performance Assessment
Introduction
- e-business failures were characterized by having no models, and were
judged based on stock price only, not value creating ability.
What is Performance Assessment?
- Measurement systems help organizations understand where they sit with
comparison to the competition.
Performance is fulfilling our objectives we set out to achieve.
We must measure the depth. Do we describe it through a multipart question:
a)
Where are we now?
b)
Where are we headed?
c)
Are these answers we want to be now and in the near future?
Linking performance measurement to decision making closes the loop and
assures the organization is doing all they can to succeed.
Some other questions can also be asked:
a)
Does the e-business solution improve the business process?
b)
Does it help us do our jobs better?
c)
Does it improve the process of value creation and value capture?
d)
Do improvements flow to both parties in the relationship?
Value creation and value capturing.
